Andy Seed worked for many years as a primary school teacher in the Yorkshire Dales before setting up as a freelance writer in 2000. His material since then has been hugely varied, encompassing books for teachers, children’s poetry, non-fiction, radio comedy sketches, comic greetings cards, copy for charities and government agencies involved in education, and web-based learning games. Andy now splits his time between writing and travelling around schools running workshops and enthusing children about books and reading. Andy is married with three children and lives in the wilds of North Yorkshire where he finds inspiration while battling against the overgrowth of his vast, rambling garden.
“I have done a lot of things but sadly most of them were not sensible. I have come face to face with killer caterpillars, a flying octopus and I even brought a mummy to life. I have been on TV twice, coached three professional footy players and – prepare to be impressed – once even walked right across a whole country (OK, it was Luxembourg…). I write loads of different things including funny info books and incredible stories when I’m not playing ping pong.”
